The rubber tree plant is an impressive variety for any plant collection. It’s also easy to care for, so it’s a great house plant for beginners. This variety features a more traditional tree habit with a bare trunk and an explosion of leaves creating the top. Called a tree for good reason, outside in their natural environment these plants can grow to over 100 feet tall with 6 feet wide trunks! Thankfully they won’t reach these heights when potted indoors but you’ll love their large beautiful glossy leaves which you can only get from a smaller plant. New growth is a thrill to watch as leaves emerge in sheaths which are eventually dropped as the leaf unfurls. NASA has also rated the rubber tree plant as one of the best plants for purifying the air.
